What is an emergency bandage?

An emergency bandage is a specific type of gauze bandage that can be applied quickly to cover a wound and protect it from infection. It is often made of a water-repellent and breathable material and has a self-adhesive closure. This makes it easy to apply quickly, without having to use additional dressings such as plasters or gauze. The bandages come in different sizes and shapes, the most famous being the so-called "Israeli" bandages which have a construction similar to a plaster but with a gauze filling. These are often used in first aid situations, for example in sports accidents or when providing first aid for outdoor injuries.

How do I use a bandage?

The use of an emergency bandage varies depending on the type of bandage you are using. In general, however, a bandage can be used in the following way:

1. Make sure you have the right size bandage for the wound.

2. Clean the wound with water, betadine solution or disinfectant.

3. Remove the wrapping from the dressing and place it over the wound.

4. Press the dressing onto the wound to help stop the bleeding.

5. Use the bandage strips or an elastic bandage to hold the bandage in place.

6. Regularly check the wound and change the dressing if necessary.

Please note that some quick bandages have specific instructions, so read the packaging carefully before using the bandage.

It is important to know that bandages are used as first aid and it is prudent to seek professional medical attention if the wound is severe or if there is any doubt about the nature of the injury.

What is the difference between the rolled bandage and the old bandage?

The old quick bandage no. 1 / no. 2 & no. 3 contains a bandage on 2 sides, where only 1 long bandage is attached to the newer variant. The new quick bandage ensures that you no longer drop the bandage and apply it easily to the injury. Make sure the bandage is secured with an adhesive plaster .
